Method
Crochet a tapered spiral ribbon by increasing stitch height and stitch count along a long foundation. Shape it around a center thread so the lower coils are wider than the upper coils.
Formation / Construction Plan
Create the spiral body first.
Add gold edging before shaping.
Coil from narrow top to wide bottom and tack each round to a central suspension thread.
Add beads after shaping.
Finish with star above and bell below.
Full Pattern
Pattern note: This is an original approximation developed from the visible design language of the reference image. Gauge and yarn choice can change the finished proportions, so compare your work to the listed size and adjust as needed.
Tree Spiral: Ch 78. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch, sc in next 10, hdc in next 16, dc in next 22, 2 dc in each of next 20, 3 dc in each remaining ch. The strip should curl strongly.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across, working 2 sc into every 5th stitch in the lower half to increase the flare. Fasten off.
Gold Edge: Join metallic thread along the outer curled edge and work sl st evenly from top to bottom.
Mini Star Option: MR, [ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch, sc, hdc, dc, sl st into ring] x5. Pull ring tight and fasten off.
Top Loop: Ch 30 with green or gold, sl st back along chain, fasten off.
Assembly and Finishing
Cut a 35 cm strong center thread and attach the top loop to it.
Begin coiling the narrow end just below the star. Tack the strip to the center thread every half turn.
Increase the coil diameter gradually so the silhouette forms a tree cone.
Sew red and gold beads around selected outer edges, spacing them irregularly like ornaments.
Attach the star at the top and bell at the lowest point.
Adjustment Notes
Do not over-stuff the spiral with beads. The curling edge should remain visible. If the tree does not flare enough, add more increases in the lower third.
