About Filet Crochet
Filet crochet uses a grid of small squares. A filled square is 3 double crochet. An open square is chain 2, skip 2, and 1 double crochet. You draw your design on graph paper and follow it row by row.
Drawing the Chart
Draw a grid 27 squares wide and 110 squares tall. Draw three trees from small to large down the center. Each tree has a trunk 1 square wide in the middle and rows of filled branches that get wider toward the base, with a few open squares between the branch rows. Add a small star at the top of each tree.

Row 1: Double crochet in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn.
