Ingredients

→ Pasta

 1 pound uncooked spaghetti

→ Seafood

1 pound medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed

→ Aromatics

6 to 8 cloves garlic, finely minced

→ Fats and Oils

 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

→ Seasonings

 Italian seasoning, to taste

 Fine sea salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

 Red pepper flakes, to taste

→ Herbs and Garnish

 Chopped fresh herbs, optional

Steps

Boil a large pot of salted water. Add spaghetti and cook for 9 to 11 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water. Drain and set aside.

Rinse the shrimp and pat dry thoroughly.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until starting to turn pink.

Add minced garlic to the skillet with shrimp. Continue cooking for 5 to 7 minutes until shrimp become opaque.

Drizzle in remaining olive oil. Toss cooked pasta into skillet. Season with Italian seasoning, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Pour in 1/4 cup reserved pasta water, adding more as needed.

Toss over medium heat until pasta is fully coated and heated through. Garnish with fresh chopped herbs if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Use high-quality olive oil and fresh garlic for superior flavor. Reserve extra pasta water in case the sauce needs adjusting consistency.
