Materials
Medium weight cotton or acrylic yarn in white, green, red, black, orange, yellow or gold, and a small amount of brown.
Crochet hook from 3.0 mm to 3.5 mm. Use the smaller size if your work feels loose.
Fiberfill for the snowman heads and optional tree center support.
Two pairs of 18 mm to 25 mm jingle bells for the snowmen.
Black safety eyes around 8 mm to 10 mm, or black yarn for embroidered eyes.
Yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers, and strong hanging cord.
Optional small red and gold beads for the Christmas tree.
Optional thin craft wire or pipe cleaner if you want the spiral shapes to stay very firm.
Finished Size
Each snowman hanger is approximately 45 to 55 cm long from the top loop to the bells.
The Christmas tree hanger is approximately 35 to 45 cm long depending on the spiral spacing.
The snowman head is approximately 9 to 10 cm wide.

Method
The snowman hangers are made in separate parts. First crochet and stuff the head. Then make the hat, scarf, arms, mitten hands, and the long white spiral body. The pieces are assembled around a strong hanging cord so the spiral stays centered below the head. The bottom bells are added last.
The Christmas tree hanger is built around a tapered green center. A white spiral strip is wrapped around the tree to imitate snow or garland. A small star is sewn to the top and tiny beads can be added as ornaments.
Formation
Make one Snowman A with the black top hat and red scarf.
Make one Snowman B with the red winter hat and red scarf.
Make one Christmas Tree Spiral Hanger.
Block only the flat pieces. Do not steam or press stuffed parts.

Face Details
Embroider a curved smile with black yarn under the nose.
Add two short pink stitches or small pink circles for the cheeks.
If desired, embroider tiny eyebrow curves above the eyes.
White Spiral Body
This strip makes the open corkscrew body below the snowman head.
Ch 85 to 95 with white yarn. A longer chain gives a longer hanger.
Row 1. Work 3 dc in the third ch from hook and 3 dc in every remaining chain. The strip will curl naturally.
Row 2. Ch 1. Work 1 sc in each stitch along the outside edge of the spiral. Fasten off.
For a thicker spiral, work one extra row of hdc along the inside edge before fastening off.
Gently stretch the curl until it forms 5 to 6 even turns.
Arms
Make 2.
With white yarn, ch 16.
Row 1. Starting in the second ch from hook, work 15 sc. Ch 1 and turn.
Rows 2-3. 15 sc. Fasten off.
Fold the strip lengthwise and sew the long edges together to make a narrow arm.
Mittens
Make 2 in red.

Fasten off. Fold the white band upward to create the cuff.
Make a white pom-pom and sew it to the tip. Add green holly leaves and red berries to the cuff if desired.
Snowman Assembly
1. Attach a strong hanging loop through the top of the hat and through the head so the weight is supported from the center.
2. Sew the hat securely to the head.
3. Wrap the scarf around the neck area and tack it in place with a few stitches.
4. Sew one arm to each side of the head or upper spiral area. Angle the arms slightly outward.
5. Attach the upper end of the white spiral to the underside of the head. Keep the first turn close to the neck.
6. Thread a strong white cord vertically through the center of the spiral from the head to the bottom. This keeps the hanger straight.
7. Open the spiral into 5 to 6 even turns and tack the center cord to the spiral at two or three points if needed.
8. Attach two short cords to the bottom. Add one red bell and one green bell for Snowman A. For Snowman B use the same colors in reverse if desired.

White Spiral Garland
Ch 75 to 85 with white yarn.
Row 1. Work 3 dc in the third ch from hook and 3 dc in each remaining chain.

Fasten off. Stretch gently until the strip makes about 5 large turns around the tree.
Wrap the spiral from the top of the tree to the lower edge. Pin the turns first, then sew them in place with small hidden stitches.
Star Topper
Make 2 pieces in yellow or gold yarn.
R1. 10 sc in MR. Join with sl st.
Point 1. Ch 5. Starting in second ch from hook work sl st, sc, hdc, dc. Sl st into the second stitch of the ring.
Repeat the point sequence 4 more times for a total of 5 points.
Fasten off. Place both stars together and sew around the edges. Add a tiny amount of stuffing if you want a raised star.
Sew the star firmly to the top of the tree and add the hanging loop through the star and tree center.
Tree Decorations
Sew small red and gold beads between the white spiral turns. Space them unevenly so the tree looks natural.
If beads are not suitable for your intended use, replace them with small embroidered French knots or tiny crochet bobbles.
Final Formation
Lay all three hangings flat before the final check.
For the snowmen, make sure the heads face forward and the spiral turns are even from top to bottom.
For the tree, keep the white spiral open enough that the green cone remains visible between the turns.
Check every bell, bead, and hanging loop. Reinforce any point that carries weight.
If the spiral pieces twist too much, lightly dampen them and pin them into shape until dry.
