Formation / Construction Plan

1. Make one round floral medallion.

2. Make two diamond motifs.

3. Add blue edging to all pieces.

4. Block until the lace is flat and crisp.

5. Create a center spine and attach the motifs vertically.

6. Twist and tack the lower motifs for a spiral effect.

Central Spine

17. With blue, ch 85 and sl st back through each chain for a firm cord.

18. Leave long tails at both ends. Optional: thread a pearl or crystal bead onto the upper end.

Assembly and Finishing

19. Block all motifs under light tension and allow them to dry completely.

20. Sew the top medallion to the spine at its top and bottom center points.

21. Position the first diamond below the medallion with a small gap and sew its top and bottom points to the spine.

22. Place the second diamond below the first and attach in the same way.

23. Rotate the first diamond slightly clockwise and the second slightly counter-clockwise. Tack one side edge of each motif to the spine to preserve the twist.

24. Finish the upper spine as a hanging loop and weave in all ends neatly
