Project Overview
This elegant table runner is built from a sequence of large floral crochet motifs joined into a long rectangular runner. Each motif features a golden-yellow center, a ring of soft cream petals, dusty-rose outer petals, and a warm ivory framework. The runner is finished with openwork connecting sections and a wide decorative scalloped border. The result is romantic, dimensional and suitable for dining tables, consoles or seasonal home décor.
Materials
Medium-weight cotton or cotton-blend yarn in warm ivory/cream, dusty rose or muted berry pink, and golden yellow.
3.0–4.0 mm crochet hook, adjusted to yarn weight.
Tapestry needle, scissors and stitch markers.
Blocking mats and rustproof pins are strongly recommended for a straight professional finish.

Construction Plan
Make four large flower-centered square motifs. Each flower begins with a yellow circular center, followed by cream petals and larger dusty-rose petals. Build an ivory square framework around each flower, join the motifs in a straight line, then crochet side panels and an outer lace border around the entire runner.
Large Flower Motif – Make 4
With golden yellow, make an MR.
R1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), work 15 dc in ring; join. (16 dc)
R2: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 2, sc in next st around; join. This creates 16 small petal anchor spaces.
Cream petals: Join cream in any ch-2 sp. In each space work [sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc]. Repeat around to form a full daisy layer.
Dusty-rose petals: Work behind the cream petals. Create 8 larger anchor loops evenly around the flower using ch 5 loops secured between pairs of cream petals. In each loop work [sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc]. The rose petals should sit behind and between the cream petals, forming the broad outer flower visible in the photo.
Squaring the Flower
Join ivory yarn behind the outer petals. Work four corner groups evenly around the motif. A practical corner group is [3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc]. Between corners, use chains and dc groups to bridge around the curved flower without pulling it out of shape. Continue for 2–3 rounds until the motif becomes a stable square. Keep the flower centered and leave small decorative openings around the outer petals.
Joining the Motifs
Block all four squares to the same dimensions before joining. Arrange them in one straight line with all flowers facing the same direction. Join adjacent squares with slip stitch, single crochet, mattress stitch, or a join-as-you-go method. Keep the seam flat and avoid tightening the joining yarn.
Side Openwork Panels
Join ivory yarn at one long side. Work rows of dc groups and chain spaces to build the runner outward. A useful repeat is [2 dc, ch 2, skip 2 sts] across, with solid dc groups near motif corners for stability. Repeat the same number of rows on the opposite side. The photo shows a substantial ivory field around the flowers, so continue until the proportions resemble the reference.
Decorative Border
Work one stabilizing round of sc around the entire runner, placing extra stitches at the outer corners. Next create open arches with [sc, ch 5, skip 2–3 sts, sc]. On the following round, fill each arch with a shell such as [sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc]. At corners, use a larger shell or additional chains so the border lies flat. Add a final picot or small scallop round if desired.
Assembly and Finishing
Weave in all ends securely. Wet-block or steam-block according to the yarn fiber, stretching the runner gently into a straight rectangle. Pin every flower square, side panel and scallop so both long edges are symmetrical. Allow it to dry completely before removing the pins.
Approximate Size
With medium-weight cotton, four large motifs can produce a runner approximately 100–130 cm long and 30–40 cm wide. The exact size depends on yarn, hook, motif diameter and the number of border rounds.
Adjustment Notes
For a longer runner, add more floral motifs before crocheting the outer framework. For a narrower runner, reduce the side-panel rounds. Keep the yellow centers small and bright, the cream petals prominent, and the dusty-rose petals broad to preserve the visual balance of the photographed design.
