Method
Build the head and body in continuous rounds. Shape a long tapering tail separately and coil it around a lightly wired core. Add flat layered wings, horns, ears and decorative scales.

Head: MR 6 sc. R2 inc around (12). R3 [sc, inc] x6 (18). R4 [2 sc, inc] x6 (24). R5 [3 sc, inc] x6 (30). R6 [4 sc, inc] x6 (36). R7–13 sc around. Insert eyes between R9–10. R14 [4 sc, dec] x6 (30). R15 [3 sc, dec] x6 (24). Stuff firmly.
Muzzle: MR 6. R2 inc around (12). R3 [sc, inc] x6 (18). R4 sc around. Flatten slightly, stuff lightly and sew to lower face.
Body: MR 6. Increase to 30 sts over 5 rounds. Work 8 rounds even. Decrease to 18 sts over 3 rounds. Stuff and close upper neck around 18 sts.
Neck: Join blue at top body opening and work 18 sc for 8–10 rounds. Sew to head.
Tail: MR 6. Work 6 sc for 6 rounds. Then increase 1 st every 3rd round until 12 sts. Continue 22–28 rounds, then increase to 15 sts near body end. Stuff lightly or insert wrapped craft wire.
Horn (make 2): MR 4. Work 4 sc for 4 rounds. Increase to 6 sts, then 8 sts over next 4 rounds. Stuff lightly and curve.
Ear/Fin (make 2): Ch 8. Sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc. Add contrasting border.
Wing (make 2): Ch 19. Row 1 sc across. Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc, 2 hdc, 8 dc, 4 tr, 2 dc. Rows 3–6 shorten each row by 2 sts to create wing points. Add long foundation chains as ribs and edge with cream.
Back Scales: Make 10–14 small triangles: ch 5, sc, hdc, dc, tr; fasten off. Sew along spine and tail.
Assembly and Finishing
Sew body to neck and neck to head, checking balance before tightening.
Attach horns and ears symmetrically. Add cream cheek/muzzle details and gold embroidery accents.
Sew wings firmly to the upper back. If wired, secure wire ends inside body padding.
Attach tail low on the body and coil it downward in a loose spiral. Tack two or three contact points so the coil keeps its shape.
Add gold beads at wing tips and along decorative lines if desired.
Attach a blue-and-cream tassel to the tail tip and a strong hanging loop through the top of the head.
Adjustment Notes
For a child-safe version use embroidered eyes and omit wire, beads and metallic charms. This design works best as decor rather than a toy.
