White Collar And Upper Body
Use white yarn. Make a magic ring and work 8 single crochet stitches inside. Round 2. Work 2 single crochet stitches in every stitch. You will have 16 stitches. Round 3. Work 1 half double crochet then chain 1. Repeat around. Join with a slip stitch. Round 4. Work 1 single crochet in each half double crochet and 2 single crochet stitches in each chain space. Fasten off. Fold the small circle slightly and sew it under the head so it looks like a soft collar or shoulder piece.
Rainbow Spiral Pattern
The spiral is the main part of this design. For a smooth rainbow effect make one long spiral strip and change color in sections instead of making separate spirals.
Start with red yarn and chain 96 for a medium hanging. Use 80 chains for a shorter hanging or 110 chains for a longer one.
Row 1. Work 3 double crochet stitches in the fourth chain from the hook. Then work 3 double crochet stitches in every remaining chain. The strip will curl strongly as you work.
Change color after about one sixth of the row. Use red first then orange then yellow then green then blue then purple. Keep each color section close to the same length.
